Selling our 2005 Airstream Safari Bambi 19CB. We're the second owners, and have loved using this trailer for the last several years. It sleeps 3 adults, or 2 adults and 2 kids comfortably the dinette converts into a bed . At 19 feet long and about 4000lbs, it's very easy to tow and maneuver on back roads. We've done a lot of work to make this trailer a great little off grid adventure rig, including the following modifications:
Dexter 3in lift kit
New Monroe Magnum shocks
New Toyo Open Country CT 225/75/16 E rated Tires
3, 100 watt Lightleaf Solar Panels on roof
2, 100 amp hour Battleborn LiFePO4 heated lithium batteries
Victron 100 30 Solar Charge Controller and Smart Shunt for monitoring
Progressive Dynamics Replacement WFCO 55 Amp Lithium Converter
OGO Origin Composting Toilet black tank has also been removed
USBC and USB Chargers
Custom, insulated window covers from Strawfoot Handmade
All of those mods mean you can boondock with ease, and not have to worry about shore power or hookups. The trailer uses significantly less fresh water without the black tank, and the composting toilet is much nicer to deal with. We also added a lot more insulation to the rear of the trailer, insulated most of the pipes, and added a furnace duct towards the back of the trailer it's a great winter camper.
We've also made the following upgrades to the interior:
Reupholstered dinette cushions
New 8 in memory foam mattress
New LED light bulbs throughout
New propane and smoke detectors
New trailer wiring connection
New running and tail lights
New sink sprayer
New shower head
New rear exhaust fan
New latches and cabinet hardware
I had the bearings repacked late last year, and the trailer comes with a weight distribution/anti sway hitch, as well.
There are some scuffs and dings on the outside typical of a 20 year old trailer, but all the systems, including the fridge, A/C, heater, stove, oven, shower, etc., work great. If you re looking for a well loved and cared for trailer with all the upgrades you need to camp off grid and have an adventure, this one is ready to go.
