Vintage airstream in original condition, needing new owners. Initially had her parked on a private campsite, then brought her home after a year or so, and here she sits. Previous owner had added replacement AC unit, repaired original fridge, during their ownership, and supplied new tires when we purchased 8 years ago where does the time go? . We initially fixed all the misc things, improved others, re caulked most of the exterior seams, and fixed water leaks so she has been pretty dry ever since. No vermin evidence ever found, not to say there wont have been at some point in her past. But as time passed, plans changed and she still needs some work to make her perfect. Items you might want to do:
- Replace plumbing with PEX, its currently the old grey poly stuff and there is a leak by the water heater.
- Add back a furnace if you want one, the previous owner told us it was gone when he bought it.
- Check water tank amidships as you can see the pan is dented, probably where someone tried to jack it up to change the tires. We have never used it.
- If I were keeping it, I would gut the bathroom, replacing an area of subfloor back left corner you can see from the vanity cupboard. The black tank at least and maybe grey tank too, must have leaked for a while, rusting out the belly pan, I have new valves for both tanks that will convey.
- Awning needs to be pitched and a new one installed.
- At some point you will need to do the axles and brakes IMHO
Now we have a crowded parking area, with the recent addition of a Class A, so we must let her go. When U get to it, I will post more photos.

Very Intersted - c/b a quick sale
we are very interested in coming to look at it. We are in North Carolina now ending a week of camping in a rental near by and returning it tomorrow. We are very interested in a retro this size and willing to com see it. Not afraid of rehab. Let me know if possible or we can arrange. Lynn Gardner 410-227-2847 text or call
Might consider a purchase sight unseen as I am in KY (7 hours away). Have a few questions: 1. Tires are 8 years old, are they showing any signs of weathering as I assume the couch was parked outside for those 8 years? 2. Have the wheel bearings been re-packed recently? 3. Have the brakes been inspected recently? 4. What was your tow vehicle? Although the couch's gross weight is about 4000 pounds the tongue weight is a surprising 670 pounds. Appears to be a well maintained couch. Thank you in advance of your reply. LS
Just an FYI, since the seller only has one post here (but has been a member for some time) they may not come back to look for messages. When you open up the classified advertisement there is a blue message seller box toward the bottom of the page.
Sorry for tardy replies Just saw these messages
Yes it's been parked outside but tires were covered pretty much all the time. Threw them away recently as they were about done. Haven't done anything to wheels or brakes. At the time we towed it with a 2005 Tahoe Z71 4x4. Previous owner had a Tundra.
Is the trailer still available. I would like to purchase. Hope all is well. Thank you
