We purchased our 1971 Airstream Sovereign in 2015, the previous owner had started the renovation of the trailer, but we spent the next two years finishing the restoration. We gutted the old copper plumbing in replaced it with PEX. Most all of the plumbing fixtures were replaced, the toilet was replaced, and a Girard on demand hot water heater was installed. Two air conditioners were installed, one is a heat pump and the other just an air conditioner. The old gas heater was removed and not replaced. Where we live the heat pump a/c and an electric space heater has taken us through any winter camping we have participated in. It also has one Fantastic fan in the bathroom. The refrigerator is a 120 volt Roper, and works well. All four steel wheels were also replaced. After many miles of traveling, in 2019 we decided we needed to replace the axles/brakes on the trailer. Two Dexter axles were purchased from Inland RV and installed locally. The trailer only has a black water tank, with no gray water tank. New twin mattresses were also installed. All interior and exterior lights were replaced with LEDs. The old Univolt inverter was replaced with a 40 amp Progressive Dynamics power inverter and since the fuses where inside the old inverter, a new fuse box was installed with the inverter. Unit has 120V/12V TV with DVD player, digital TV antenna. A new 21 ft. Carefree awning installed in 2017. The trailer was polished in 2018, could use atouch up polish.
