A complete renovation of this vintage Airstream, including removal of the shell from the chassis, was completed in 2020. Its original aluminum shell and steel frame are fully restored. All systems are new, as is cabinetry in the style of a midcentury yacht. Floor plan was improved to provide much more elbow room, head room, and storage space ideal for two people, and the trailer will still sleep four when dinette table is lowered. Lots of windows, two fans, and the door within a door flood the interior with light and fresh air. This trailer is very easy to tow thanks to its light weight of about 3,800 pounds after renovation, its Reese load leveling anti sway hitch, and visibility through the trailer in the tow vehicle's rearview mirror. We've towed this trailer through the Rocky Mountains with a 6 cylinder SUV as featured in June 2022 issue of BMW Roundel magazine. It has also been to Nova Scotia and all around Michigan, so all its systems have been thoroughly checked out in about 10,000 miles of travel since its renovation. This trailer also was featured in the January/February issue of Vintage Camper Trailers magazine.
Upgrades compared to 1964 original include Absorbed Glass Mat batteries, LED lighting inside and out, Reflectix and fiberglass insulation, quiet multistage charger/converter, 110v inverter, entertainment center with 24" TV, 35 gallon gray water tanks, composting toilet, on demand water heater, mahogany cabinetry, and modern range and fridge.
