I know this is a long shot but, I am searching for a fully restored Airstream that has new furniture, cabinets, floors, electrical and plumbing. If needed, I will pay to replace the fridge, stove and microwave.. Even if you have done most , I can pay for the finishing touches. I am looking to make this my full-time living space so its important that I dont have to do much work on it. I would just like to hit the road and I prepare to leave corporate america. I have seen some good “shells” for $5k. and I have priced out all the materials to arrive at my price. I will admit, I may have miscalculated labor, my apologies. Also, if I can purchase the old one and buy the materials, I will pay a skilled, reputable person the bring it up standard.

I need a great kitchen and open space (no table with seating area). I attached the open space plan look I prefer.. or something similar. I am tall so I need to utilize the space. .

  1. Hate to tell ya but $25k is not going to cover the cost of the trailer shell plus material. For a what you are looking for at least.

Plus it’s take 2000 hours plus to do it right.

I am doing a shell off renovation and too thought I had an accurate estimate on material cost before I started but $35k later and I haven’t even got to the interior finish out yet.

I’ve tracked every item purchased which has been over 500.

Best of luck in your search!

It’s not going to be the floor plan you want, but look up every Airstream-only park in the US (not sure how many total, but scratch the ones you won’t travel to). Check their classified ads–I’ve seen lots of trailers on the couple in Texas I look at over the years. Solid units in your budget–then the renovation work would be done at your leisure… but at least you’ve got a solid rig to work with.
