Condition:
It is 14 years old, but the aluminum is in great condition. It has been stored inside by previous owner and myself when not in use. We have only used the Airstream for a couple weeks a year the last three years (since purchase). There are scratches on the bump rail on driver side near back (my fault, but that’s what the rail is for). Rear Driver Side break light has a scratch from backing into storage unit first time :( and a scratch on passenger side back corder, again storage unit. These minor blemishes will only be noticed by you or me, but it is a trailer and probably won’t be the last!

Story:
We are sad to let her go, but we purchased a lake house and boat earlier this year and we can only have so many toys. I purchased this airstream in Ketchum, OK from the original owner who sold for health reasons. He hadn't driven it in several years, and didn't like to see it sitting around. I unknowingly hooked my 1/2 ton GM up to the triple axle and towed back to our house in Oklahoma City. First mistake I made as an RV owner... always check the tires, brakes, etc. Nothing eventful happened, thank heavens, but two tires where flat when I back it into the driveway (thankfully it has six!). I told the wife a deep clean and new set of tires and she is ready to pack up, load the kids and head out on our adventures. As many in this forum can attest to, we didn't see eye to eye.

Step 1: I dropped off at Leisure Time RV, Airstream dealer at the time just outside of Oklahoma City. Six Tires, Brakes, Gas Valve, Routine Maintenance later I picked up to start the renovation process. Hurt the pocket book, but this classic has new rubber and brakes that will stop on a dime and pull great (I'll get to that later).

Step 2: The airstream came in original condition with carpet, vinyl sheet flooring, carpet on walls, ceiling (why so much carpet airstream!), dated curtains, upholstery coverings for dinette and futon, wallpaper in bathroom, etc... At the Mrs. direction this was all removed (easy part) and we then began the renovation.

Step 3: We had Virgil (great upholster in OKC if anyone lives in town) reupholster Dinette and Futon with Sunbrella. We chose Sunbrella because it lasts and holds up to traveling! It feels great, looks great and doesn’t stain! Virgil also installed new wall coverings throughout the Classic. White Lizard Vinyl in the living and kitchen area, White Ostrich Vinyl in the bedroom area. This is automotive vinyl so it will hold up to the UV rays that stain cheap wall coverings. We had a local flooring company install Vinyl Plant Flooring throughout the Airstream (living, kitchen, bath, bedroom, trunk, everywhere). It is waterproof, scratch resistant and cleans up in a snap. I cannot believe the previous owners had carpet in the living and bedroom, imagine the mess when camping! Bart Stevenson (Great OKC painter if anyone lives here!) then came in to refinish all of the wood throughout trailer (Bath, Bedroom, Living, Kitchen, Dinette, etc..). He installed Christian LaCroix Maison De Jeu Playing Cards in the Bathroom. Also painted a marble faux finish for the counter tops on each side of the futon in the living area (also looks great!)

Step 4: Pulling a 34’ triple axle with a 1/2 GM. This scared the bejesus out of me when first picking it up from the original owner… almost to the point of selling it right there on the spot to someone else. Oklahoma Wind, Semis on the Road, road raging drivers not realizing how big you are had me white knuckling for the entire four hour drive, which typically takes two in a half. I did some research and found ProPride Hitches, I cannot state this enough… if you pull a trailer you have to have this hitch or similar model. I purchased the 1,400# Propride with 3” drop and it took an entire day to install, but this was the best investment made yet. I don’t recommend this, but you can actually pull the trailer loaded, in high winds (we have these daily in Oklahoma) and not feel a thing behind you. You know it is there, but the control the hitch provides for the towing experience is amazing!!! 1/2 works on flatter ground (Oklahoma), but recommend 3/4 ton or larger if planning on traveling through mountains.

Step 5: We are now selling :( We have taken the airstream across country for spring break with kids, camped at Graceland (highly recommend), had several lake weekends and adventures in Oklahoma. Every time the Classic did not have issue, pulled great, setup and breakdown are a snap and provided us a cool rv in the summer and kept us warm on winter trips… Spring Break snow storm in Tennessee, who would have thought! This really is a great buy, and ready to go day one on your family or retirement adventures. Perfect for tailgating, camping, winter home down south, you name it.

This has been long winded, but I really do care about this trailer and hope it can find another great home that someone can enjoy!

Cheers

***Update 11/18/2019***

Uploaded YouTube link below of walk through and uploaded an image of original invoice.

I had the year wrong in the first post. It is a 2005, not a 2004! I know it’s just a year, but when you sell something you usually don’t age it more! Can’t believe I did that.

I’m going to try and get by the storage unit today and snap a photo of the original invoice so you can see every detail, option, original price, etc. I’ll get a video walk through as well which can provide more detail than a handful of pictures.

I corrected the description and mistakes I made in the video

- laminate plank flooring, not vinyl!
- faux marble finish on futon counter tops
- single solar panel, not double

That’s it!

Cheers!

Update 1/9/2020

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Years this past year! I can't believe it is already 2020!?!?! Time goes by faster each year and we have to make the best of every moment we have!

The 2005 Airstream Classic is still available for sale. We have had lots of interest, but it hasn't found the perfect buyer just yet :( Spring is around the corner and this AS would be the perfect addition to a new adventure, family travels or retirement journeys!

Contact me at anytime with questions.

Side note; we are not interested in assistance selling on eBay or professional help marketing. I've received many phone calls about this and wanted to answer that question to save time.

Cheers!
