Looking to upgrade from our 1984 Excella to a newer model (wife wants the aluminum interior). The camper is in very good usable shape, we camp about every other weekend. Everything works, however it's all fairly original interior. There's some hail damage to the front cap. Tires are great, pulls great, tank valves have been replaced, full propane tanks, fridge, microwave, stove, 4 burner cook top, dual heating, Coleman A/C works great. If I were to keep it, I'd replace the window seals, strip and polish the outside, and change the flooring to the newer wood look vinyl. Maybe upgrade a few appliances, but that's about it. We have been extremely happy with our first airstream, and, honestly, we have no problems keeping her as part of the family, however my wife found another one already that she absolutely loves. We would be willing to entertain trading ours plus cash for a 2007+ 28'.
