1983 Airstream 34’ Excella Limited For Sale

You can add your personal customizations to this triple axel 34’ Airstream Excella Limited! This is one of the largest vintage Airstreams you can find. It has enough floor space to be a great tiny house! There is something special about owning a vintage Airstream, you’re sure to get noticed. And the Airstream community is a great one!

Why are we selling then? Well, we bought a house and had to make the hard decision whether to fix up the house or the Airstream…and the house won out.

A little about the Airstream:

You will enjoy the desirable layout with the bathroom in the middle allowing the sleeping area to be separate from the living area. The sitting area in the front has the potential to be used as an additional sleeping area (we measured it and it can fit an IKEA Frihiten sleeper sofa).

The bedroom at the back of the Airstream can fit either a double bed or a set of bunks…your decision! We removed the old bed and repaired the floor underneath it before we laid new laminate flooring. It is ready for you to adapt the space in the way that best suits your needs. (Personally, we were going to put bunks in the back for our kids and use the IKEA sofa up front for our bed.) In the hall there is a double wardrobe and an additional single wardrobe, as well as overhead tambour storage. Seriously, this Airstream has tons of space for storage.

The original cabinets were in bad shape, so we removed these and the kitchen area is ready for new cabinets. We planned to add IKEA cabinets to maximize the storage space, but you add whatever suits your needs and your style. We did, however, keep the groovy trambour spice rack on the wall. There is also a microwave cubby. The 10 cubic foot fridge/freezer is currently cold. We have the original four burner Magic Chef stove/oven although it is not currently installed since we were going to do that after the new cabinets were installed.

It has one of the largest bathrooms of any Airstream on the road today, complete with a walk in shower and bench seat. The bathroom has been retiled and includes a new sink. We removed the old toilet which required a black water tank and have a brand new Nature’s Head composting toilet (still in the box, sells for $960 on Amazon) ready to be installed. The composting toilet is the perfect option for those who are ecologically-minded. This alternate form of disposing waste while on the go is very effective and easy to use. Not only does it save water, smell less, and doesn’t require you to empty the black water tank, it is also versatile. It needn’t be used only in your Airstream, it can be taken into the wild and used at a campsite, or in backcountry camping.

One of the cool vintage features is that you can still see the shadow of the identification numbers issued by Wally Byam Caravan Club International, an Airstream owners organization.

The skin is in good condition. There are a couple of dents that could be popped out.
It has an aluminum step with extension. It includes awnings in fair to not-so-good condition. There are dual pane windows, but as is common in the Airstreams with the dual pane window option, the seal is drooping. (There is a fix for this on YouTube where you cut one of the panes out, we just hadn’t gotten to this step yet.) It also has a top mounted AC unit which worked the last time we turned it on. The tires are in good condition.

You’ll notice in some photos that there is a green cast. This is from the included 3-piece rock guard (which run about $1700 new) which protects the front window while you are out on the road.

Others who own a 34’ triple axel Airstream attest that the trailer is a dream to tow and to back up. They are said to be the easiest towing Airstreams ever made. We have towed her ourselves without problem!

This Airstream is just dying for someone to make her a home-away-from-home or even a full-time home! (Or a guest room, an Airbnb, a home office…)
