I purchased this Airstream in 2014 from the estate of the original owner. The family had conducted annual maintenance via the service department at their Airstream dealer prior to and following each of their summer road trip adventures. Over the nearly 40 years of explorations, they amassed a portfolio of breathtaking family experiences with this Airstream. On the date in which I purchased this unit, I spent that morning looking through photo albums with the daughter as she gleefully reminisced upon the traveling that fortified her family bonds over several decades. This interaction made me feel completely confident that I had found the perfect vessel to pursue my dream of Airstream ownership. The unit had been consistently stored in one of the barns of their family’s 1,200 acre agricultural farm. At the time of inspection, all appliances were operational including a recent Dometic A/C unit upgrade. Following the purchase, I immediately brought the unit to the Airstream dealership where it was originally purchased and always serviced where a new weight distribution hitch was installed and the unit was fully inspected and cleared for safe transport. I personally towed the vessel effortlessly and without issues from Ohio to our farm in Western Massachusetts where it stayed until last year. Last December (2018) I moved to California, at which time I personally towed the trailer from our farm in Western Massachusetts to Joshua Tree where it now resides. I had high hopes of completing a full restoration to this trailer but I’ve come to the realization after 5 years that I simply don’t have the available time for it at this juncture and rather than waiting for that day that may never come to reality, I’d love to see it go to a new owner who will set out and complete the journey and make new amazing memories in this classic beauty.

Work that I have completed is as follows: Installed New Maxxis 8008 trailer tires (December 2018), repacked Axle bearings and electric brakes serviced (trailer tows seamlessly and brakes work well), installed new LED clearance lights (front & rear), new light lenses on rear brake, signal lights and running lights, new emergency breakaway kit, new ¼” 5000 lbs. towing safety chains, new 7-pin connector and wiring, (3) new Fantastic Fans (Model 2250) still in manufacturer packaging ready for installation, new Fastway E2 trunnion weight distribution hitch (10,000 lbs) with 14,000 lbs shank & heavy duty 2-5/16 ball, (2) new 30lb LP tanks (full) w/new black polyethylene propane tank cover, Original owner’s manual in possession, electric jack has been serviced and works perfectly. I have receipts for all aforementioned parts and services. It is currently registered in California and I have a clear title in-hand.

I’ve spent approximately 110+ hours polishing this vessel. Highly oxidized areas received Nuvite F9 polish, followed by the entire shell receiving a combination of Nuvite F7 and Nuvite grade C, the end caps were then finished with Nuvite grade S via cyclo-polisher. To complete polishing the vessel to an impeccable mirror finish will require roughly an additional 45-60 hours. I do have several canisters/grades of Nuvite polish on-hand which I will provide in the sale of this unit. Additionally, I have a variety of other accessories on-hand: plumbing fittings, sanitation hose and supplies, electrical supplies, leveling blocks, etc. I’ve removed the pre-existing carpet to unveil a subfloor that displays no compromise and is ready for installation of new flooring. For someone that is hands on and wants to get this unit back on the road without a full committing to a full gut remodel, my recommendation is the following: replace existing plumbing supply pipes with PEX pipes to ensure no future failures, replace fresh water holding, replace low-pressure LP hose from regulator to main LP supply line, install new flooring, purchase new mattresses, test water pump and water heater and replace where necessary, install new shower head, replace rivets where necessary and apply trempro to body seams.

I have a logistics company that can deliver this unit for an additional fee anywhere in the US excluding Hawaii and Alaska. Lastly, I have conducted significant research regarding Airstream restorations and I’m more than happy to provide the buyer with bookmarks to websites and blogs that I’ve found to be incredibly insightful. Please contact me with any additional questions and/or to request additional photos. Thank you.
