Absolutely stunning restoration of an American Icon, this 1952 Flying Cloud is first class all the way. The attention to detail, materials and high end finishes make this beautiful classic stand out anywhere, it is literally like looking at a work of art or a sculpture. ***Please CALL: 520-404-1975 for more info and I can also direct you to a site with 24 FULL SIZE PICURES, I’m not able to include a link here. NO Emails, too many scams.*** I have seen many “restored” vintage Airstreams over the years, and this one is by far the finest. If you’re familiar with the work of the amazing Mr. David Winick and you have seen his work, then you will appreciate the style and craftsmanship of this coach. In my humble opinion, it resembles his style and quality- and to say that I’m a fan of his is an understatement. I have owned 3 of the 75th Anniversary Airstreams designed by Winick, and seen a few of his classic restorations, whoever did this interior must have been a huge fan of his as well, and studied how it should be done. I wish I knew more about who did the resto, I would love to meet them and be able to tell the story- but this was part of an estate, so I never met the seller, and have no back-story on the craftsman/former custodian of this beauty. I am told that it has some of the best parts from a 1954 and a 1952 Flying Cloud. It draws a crowd wherever it goes, and everyone has questions I wish I could answer. If you don’t like attention- this is NOT the trailer for you! Recently polished to a mirror-like shine, and the interior restoration/modification is the perfect combination of beauty and functionality. LOTS of modern upgrades to make it comfortable and user-friendly, keeping just enough of the original fixtures, etc to preserve the charm and character. Updated exterior lighting and wiring, with modern 7-Round plug, new safety chains, and a new “Haul Master” electric Hitch Jack with light. Polished aluminum 15″ wheels and “Contender” ST 205/75 R15 load range E trailer tires installed last year. You know you’ve invested wisely when people are piling out of their half-million dollar class A’s to come check out your Airstream and beg you to look inside.
COLD “Coleman Mach” roof-mounted AC, and “Therm-X Caravan Mark II” Catalytic heater. Original roof-vents replaced with “Fan-Tastic” vent fans (2). Modern 30 AMP service with locking plug and 30 AMP cord. “Parallax” power supply, Convertor/Charger, 12 Volt power supply (DC Charger). 2 Polished aluminum “Worthington” 20 pound LP tanks w/upgraded LP pressure regulator and hoses. Updated 30 (approx.) gallon fresh water tank with front-fill, and separate 20 gallon gray water tank and 20 gallon black water tanks (tank sizes are just approximate to what they held when we tested them, so don’t have exact specs), we didn’t install them. “Valterra” waste-gate and sewer hook-ups. ABS/PVC plumbing, PEX water supply lines, with valves and shut-offs at key locations for ease of use and draining. “Atwood G6A-8E” 6 gallon LP/electric ignition water heater, with “FlowJet” water pump.
They advertised in the vintage Airstream literature from 52′ that the Flying Cloud would sleep 4 comfortably, that may be a stretch for 4 adults- but it does have a nice double bed in the rear that measures about 84″ x 50″ (with new custom mattress) and the dinette also folds into another bed, about 77″ x 42″. Great/useable kitchen space with lots of beautiful/functional cabinets and drawers, a “Wedgewood Vision” 2 burner cook-top, “Dometic” 2-way refrigerator/freezer, and porcelain sink with “American Standard” faucet/pull-out sprayer. The bathroom features a porcelain “Sealand” toilet and “Delta” adjustable shower. “Kenwood” AM/FM/CD w/4 Sony speakers. New upholstery and custom curtains throughout. Beautiful “Tobacco Trail Acacia” hand-scraped engineered hardwood flooring goes perfect with the polished walls and Cherry cabinetry with polished edging. Custom shelving, and an amazing amount of storage- even some neat hidden storage areas throughout the coach. All glass is in excellent condition, windows operate as they should. Exterior door step slides smoothly and is in excellent condition. Modern “BAL” Stabilizers added are wonderful if you don’t want to get sea-sick in your Airstream. I can only include 24 pictures here, but I will be happy to email you pictures of the under-belly, and anything else you’d like to see.
This little Flying Cloud is a beautiful fusion of Vintage-Retro class and modern amenities, and I simply can’t say enough about the craftsman who did the interior and cabinetry, a true master at his craft. There has been a great deal of time and money spent to make it both stunning to look at and user-friendly. I’m sure I’ve left out a lot of little details that I don’t even know about. Having received this much attention to detail, this little Airstream is sure to be a favorite in your collection, or take it on a road-trip and be the envy of everyone on the roads and campgrounds everywhere!
